My name is Marjorie and I am the creator of Little Rebels. I’ve been in the advertising industry for more than 10 years until I realized I wasn’t doing anything to change the world we live in.

Thanks to my daughter, I decided to start a new business transforming kids drawings into plush toys (www.tedybujo.com). Thanks to that business, I was selected as a Young Leader of the Americas by ex President Obama which allowed me to learn from 250 talented entrepreneurs and CEO´s.

For the past 2 years, I came to realize that my mission is to empower girls and women, so I started working with seamstresses under different stress situations.

Most recently, I saw in my daughter a need to believe in herself and I started sharing with her stories from powerful women that achieved their dreams, and so Little Rebels was born.

Empowering young girls in developing countries delivers a tremendous impact on both the girls and our planet’s future. Relatable relevant role models will help us deliver inspirational, motivational messages from global female leaders. And in the process, we will help struggling women in crisis build careers, freedom and independence, all while creating a sustainable and modestly profitable new business: Little Rebels.

Little Rebels is a unique product line of female dolls inspired by women who have “made a dent in the universe” starting with Marie Curie, Malala, and Michelle Obama’s, and expanding over time to many others. Little Rebels will empower kids through history and education in a playful way, and each item will contain a multilingual booklet as well as website links and a QR code linking the doll’s owner to the rich, inspiring history of each character and her importance to—and lessons for—girls from the next generation. The dolls will be sold in a variety of channels, both online and off.

To do so we require an initial capital of $50,000 to, among other activities:

Place an order for at least 5,000 dolls in four varieties, hire and train a small team to market, pack, ship, and manage the first orders. Develop and execute a social media and public relations (low-budget) marketing plan. Pay salaries for a small team of designer, developer and the CEO.

For the past 5 years, Founding CEO Majo Spitalnik and the team leading Little Rebels has been working actively to provide training and employment to this important, challenging population— communities of underprivileged seamstresses, often victims of domestic violence, and too often including single moms or survivors of other similar stress situations.

Little Rebels will help us continue with this work, training new communities on how to make our dolls and providing them not only a job but a safe place. We are raising awareness among young girls while helping women in the process.

We know that we may have several obstacles on our way to achieve our goal; big companies may try to copy our idea, we may have trouble with the seamstresses communities, production may run late, but we are ready to face all of that. We’ve been preparing ourselves for this our entire lives, we can lead this revolution! Will you join us?
